• When trying to rename .svg images, it gives the error “A file with that name already exists in the containing folder!”

I use elementor, and .svg images are allowed due to changing WP settings.

It will give me that error, BUT will change the file name still. It will however delete the title and alt text.

If I refresh the page, add back the title and alt text, and re “update” the info – then all the changes stick. It is however a long process for changing the svg filenames on a bunch of images.

    Best,
    Charles

    Hi @cfazio4,
WordPress doesn’t allow to upload .svg file to media liberary, which plugin are you using to manage .svg files?

I need to test Phoenix Media Rename with this plugin to address the issue, as soon as I know the plugin name, I will install it on my development server and I will try to reproduce the issue.

Using elementor, the first time that you try and upload a svg image, it will give you an option to enable / disable svg uploads.

    Example:

I’ll check it in a couple of days: I’m working on a new release that fixes an issue with WPML.

I hope to start working on .svg support early next week.

    Thank you for the info!

    Hi @cfazio4,
I’m sorry I’ve made you wait: I’ve been too busy in the past days to work on Phoenix Media Rename ??

I’ve made a lot of tests and everything works fine with SVG and Elementor, except in one case: if I rename an image when the page is opened in Elementor Editor (using two browser’s tabs) the image metadata generated by Elementor are not updated.

Is this your scenario or did you have problems working in a single tab?
