Suspicious amount of URLs and files, posts, and comments

  • I was previously hacked. Using multiple antimalware plugins I was able to clean up my sites, but during checks I get some what appears to be abnormal amounts of posts, comments, and files being 144K+ and over 192k URLs which seems to be going up in count. I think this is abnormal for a basically a profile site. I don’t use to blog to make posts, and I got rid of wpforo. So Idk. I’ve been trying to access some files to dive in and take a look to see if I can find anything abnormal. one of these files was much larger than others so I suspected there could be a ton of URLs injected there monkeyh5_WPCKE.1633124566.sql I get a validation error when trying to access it and been trying to figure out why I can’t access it. I have yet to download it. Another sneaky thing is it’s been a long time since it’s been modified however I have been actively redesigning my website. I’m thinking about backing it up, and deleting it just to see what happens.

  • I would recommend not experimenting further with cleanups but deleting the project completely and restoring from a clean backup. Once a project has been infected, you can never be sure what is still hidden there – no matter what tools you use.

    And to your question: no one here will be able to do anything with this file because it is a file created by the attacker.
