  • It’s not easy to diagnose the problem with so little information. But from my experience, I am pretty sure it’s not my plugin, it’s your template that does not support this functionality. Please refer to this page for more information

Please consider changing your “doesn’t work” vote if you realize it was like what I said (your theme, not my plugin). It would be really appreciated. Also a vote in STARS would be helpful.

I’m so sorry about my “doesn’t work” vote. I just changed this to “works”.
And I will put stars after I use this a bit.

    Thanks Camu.

I realized how to reproduce this bug. After removing and reinstalling this plugin I went to the plugin options, “comment form” tab, “Messages for your visitors” section, and I edited “Default label”. After doing this, the checkbox no longer appears ??

    Hi there,

what value did you put in that field?

    I just changed one word:

“Notificarme los nuevos comentarios por correo electrónico. Tambien puedes suscribirte sin comentar.” changed to “Notificarme los nuevos comentarios por correo electrónico. También puedes suscribirte sin comentar.”

    Notice the word “también”.

After doing this the only thing I can do to resolve this problem is to remove and reinstall your plugin.

No wait, there has to be a way. What value do you have in the Custom HTML field, inside the Comment Form tab? As far as I know, the plugin is “accented letters”-safe, meaning that you can use them in the text without any problems.

Also, what was the value you had in “Defaul label” just after you reinstalled the plugin? Was it in English? Are you using a plugin called qTranslate?

It was in Spanish, the default value was the first one: “Notificarme los nuevos comentarios por correo electrónico. Tambien puedes suscribirte sin comentar.”

I think it’s not an “accented letters” issue, notice the word “electrónico” is accented in default value.

My Custom HTML field is the default value, it is “<p><label for=”, without quotes.

That’s the problem! Leave that value empty ?? I’ll make sure the default value for the Spanish localization contains single quotes only…

Thank you for pointing that out!

Should I leave custom html field empty?

I don’t understand what you mean about single quotes only.

I can confirm that it works fine after setting Custom HTML field as empty value.

I really appreciate your effort with your plugin and your support in this forum. Thank you very much.

I don’t understand what you mean about single quotes only.

Using ‘ instead of ” ?? It’s sort of a bug that I will fix in my next release! It looks like I had overlooked this specific issue…

A vote for my plugin would be a nice way to thank me for my support ??
