• I’m thinking about making some small mods to my site, and one involves whether to keep all the doorways open on my pages.

So I’m wondering what it the typical style of entry for you when you first come to a blog, and then later when you’re a regular reader. I know most reading occurs on the first page, but in cases when you’re actually bothered to look around a blog, is it a leisurely stroll through interesting categories, a methodical march over the dated archives, or dartful leaping at individual calendar entries?

  • heh, well if i follow a blog, I mainly just check the main page and I’ll check back usually on a daily basis to see if anything new has been posted. I don’t really check any of the categories/archives .

Calendars mean nothing to me. I’d rather look through an few archive pages with post titles and excerpts to find something of interest. I use categories for specific people–I would look for a plugin category from a known author, for example, but otherwise I would mostly use the archive.

    Hi,

could anybody tell me please, how I can make certain categories only visible for certain users? Can I use the Level the user has?

Thanks in advance and greetings from Bonn, Germany, JK

jk – Starting another thread would have been better, and you might find https://www.wordpress.de useful too ??
