As I wrote in the earlier topic:
I have never found the time to learn and implement REST API endpoints for MLA, and I have no plans to add these features in the near future. It might be possible to use the older AJAX API to adapt the logic in the example plugin I outlined above.
I regret the news is not better, but other demands on my time leave me little time to work on a project like this. I am marking this topic resolved simply because your question has been answered. If my situation changes I will post an update here. Thanks for your understanding and your interest in the plugin.
