• Yes, I know that the Google/ WP thing is off limits, so I’m not going into to that, but I ask that all the readers of this forum consider the time and dedication Matt has given to WordPress, that he is overseas and unable to respond to the allegations, and that what is going on here is a nothing more than a character assassination that has now spread from Matt and onto the entirety of WordPress, all for one little mistake. Ask anyone who knows Matt and they’ll tell you he’s a great guy and his ethics are beyond reproach. Ask anyone behind WordPress about his role (as founder) as the driving force and inspiration behind the tool we now value so much. All I ask that in considering the allegations, that you stand back and think twice before joining the lynch mob, and remember you are talking about a real person, and like all people they can make mistakes, but overall what Matt has given, and still has to give, should result in forgiveness, not what’s going on now

  • BTW, has Matt unofficially changed his name from Mullenweg to Mullweg to escape all the noise as the title of this thread seems to suggest? ??

    Some the folks who start bashing WP are also placing g-ads in the middle of their blogs!

    I think the ad-words has changed the way internet behaves!

    Now if there is no way WP development can sustain itself financially, I think it has to ultimately go the MT way. High time we, the users, did something about it.

    You’re insane, kmtcn. Do you link to any sites that have ad banners? It’s the same thing!

    Obviously, you’ve never done an ounce of volunteer work in your life. For all Matt has done, he deserves to earn money in whatever way possible. We’re at least fortunate the he chose a way that does not impact us. With all his knowledge of WP, he could have very easily become a comment spammer. So sit down, chill out, and let an honest man earn honest money. Or, are you opposed to ad banners too?

    @v — guess you didn’t see “Clerks”, eh?! ??

    joni – I don’t do movies as a regular thing – and I NEVER do tv. The only reason I know it’s a movie is from a previous post of yours! From what you quoted though, I might have to take a look….

    Of course, my fav ref in this regard at the moment would be “Conspiracy Theory” (which my daughter forced me to sit through – but I did like it, probably because my mind runs in those circles anyway….)

    OT: @vkaryl, it may disappoint if you are after erudite films. But it’s the quintessential 90’s angst movie. James Berardinelli (the only movie reviewer worth his salt IMHO) has this to say:
