    Hi there!

We are using WP Cerber (https://wpcerber.com/) as a security plugin for our website.
I discovered by using your wizard that they are placing serveral cookies with random names per user. You can read more about these at https://wpcerber.com/browser-cookies-set-by-wp-cerber/.

Some examples of these cookie names are:
    yDZfLm-vQwl
    VTdiGqMSgc
    SRV-lPfea
    KpgCkMmSnoNa

As I understood these cookie names are being generated randomly and are different per user. Currently these cookies are always ending up in the section “Diversen” without any information about them on the cookie policy page.

So my question is: do you have a solution on how to tackle this?

I have the possibility to add a prefix to these cookies and they also provide a shortcode to list the cookies being used.

    Thank you for your thoughts!
    L

    Hallo @wpsolutionsbe,

Thank you for providing this information. We can do the following:

Select a prefix for these Cookies in WP Cerber, this may be anything unique. Ensure that these cookies are being detected in the Cookie Scan and placed under Miscellaneous/Diversen.

Then disable the Cookie Scan (Complianz > Settings), this will result in the entries getting sent to CookieDatabase. I will look up the prefix on CookieDatabase and make sure that the randomized part after the prefix is replaced with an asterisk.

After doing this, re-enable the Cookie Scan and click Sync with CookieDatabase. It may take a full week for the Sync to commence, as the limit is set to once per week. Upon completion, everything with the given prefix will be placed under Miscellaneous/Diversen.

    Kind regards,
    Jarno

    Hi @wpsolutionsbe & community,

The prefix of the WP Cerber cookies can be set to “c_cerber_”. When Complianz has detected these Cookies & upon completion of the sync with CookieDatabase, the WP Cerber cookies will now be categorized as such on your Cookie Policy document.

I’ve written a short article with step-by-step instructions on how to configure this, please find it here: https://complianz.io/assign-wp-cerber-cookies-to-the-correct-service/

    Kind regards,
    Jarno
