    Hi,
I installed EWWW Image Optimizer. The plugin tells me:

EWWW Image Optimizer is supported on Linux, FreeBSD, Mac OSX, and Windows. Unfortunately, the EWWW Image Optimizer plugin doesn’t work with SunOS. Feel free to file a support request if you would like support for your operating system of choice.

Are you planning to support SunOS?

    Regards, Sambino

I’ll do some looking, I’ve never considered it before. Do you know what branch & version you are running? Is it Solaris, OpenSolaris, OpenIndiana?

    Hi,
    thanks for the quick answer.

    <?php phpinfo(); ?> tells me ‘SunOS localhost 5.10 Generic_139556-08 i86pc’.

Is there a script to get more Information or is this enough Information for you?

    I found more Information.
    There′s an entry about

    Host i386-pc-solaris2.10

    .

I don’t know much about Solaris/SunOS other than what I’ve read in articles in the past, and some digging I did earlier, so I don’t know specifically that there is any difference.
Couple other questions that I think will help:
    1. Do you have shell access to your server?
    2. Who is your webhost, or who runs your server?
    3. Can you ask the folks responsible for managing your server what particular version of SunOS the server is running?

From what I know, 2.10 (or 5.10) are roughly inter-changable, and should mean either original Solaris version 10 or OpenSolaris version 10. OpenIndiana started at 11 from what I can tell.

any progress on the questions I asked?

Looks like this is feasible, but I’ll need a bit more information and interest from a few more users in SunOS support before I dive into this one.

    Hi,
    sorry for the delay.
    1.) No Shell Access available.
    2.) https://www.strato.de
    3.) original Solaris version 10 / I think it′s https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/server-storage/solaris10/downloads/index.html

    Thank you.

Downloaded their VM for Solaris 10, I’ll do some more digging to see how tough this will be over the next couple weeks.

I appreciate your effort. I love your plugin and would like to use it, too.

Just had a chance to finally get back to this. I’ve got it working successfully on OpenIndiana (OpenSolaris) which is supposed to be equivalent to Solaris 10. I’ve pushed the modifications and binaries to the dev release. If you have a chance, try it out and see if it works for you. I’ll fire up the actual Solaris 10 VM on monday to see if there are any other tweaks to make.

    Download the dev release here:

    Hi,
well done! The dev release works fine on my System. I tested it (same Server as mentioned above) and couldn′t find any bug.

Thank you very much. Wonderful Plugin!
