Support for HOTP by emails

    I would like to ask if the team is considering extending the 2FA using HOTP sent by email.

    I am aware that they are not the safest option however, we have no other option to support people without smartphones.

    Maybe there will be a space for development for premium license?

    Hi @pelwu,

    I have noted your request as there is an open development case for possible inclusion of this feature. It has been a number of years since the last customer request for it, so I’m unable to provide ongoing updates here regarding its likelihood to be included in the Wordfence plugin. All suggestions are seen, then discussed internally.

    Just for some background, the reason we no longer support SMS for 2FA is that we don’t believe it to be secure: https://krebsonsecurity.com/2021/03/can-we-stop-pretending-sms-is-secure-now/
