Support for Facebook Login API v2.0

Thanks for sharing this. I wasn’t aware that Facebook Login API v1.0 is being deprecated.

I use this plugin for one of my sites so it is likely that I will update the Facebook Login API. But I don’t know when I will have time to do it.

Any kind of help will be greatly appreciated (pull request, donation, suggestions on how to implement this).

Social Connect uses the facebook-php-sdk (https://github.com/facebookarchive/facebook-php-sdk) library. Do you know if it has been updated to use the latest version of the Facebook Login API? There is a new library, facebook-php-sdk-v4 (https://github.com/facebook/facebook-php-sdk-v4), which probably is using the latest version of the API but it requires PHP >= 5.4 and this is a problem for a big part of the WordPress installations.

Hi Rodrigo. No worries. I don’t know much about it myself, other than that it’s changing. Understand you’re busy so no pressure on it. Unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be able to do any work on the plugin myself.

The current facebook-php-sdk doesn’t seem to clarify what version of the API it’s using, but equally doesn’t say about whether there’s a deadline for use before needing to switch to facebook-php-sdk-v4. Hard to tell on the face of it.

It seems that for new apps facebook-php-sdk will use Facebook Login API v2.0:
