  • This plugin seems discontinued. A pity because it’s the only one that allows to keep incremental copies.

    Getting this tonight:

Thank you for installing WordPress Backup to Dropbox!

In order to use this plugin you will need to authorized it with your Dropbox account.

Please click the authorize button below and follow the instructions inside the pop up window.

    Error

There was a fatal error loading WordPress Backup to Dropbox. Please fix the problems listed and reload the page.

If the problem persists please re-install WordPress Backup to Dropbox.

    Error message: v1_retired

Sadly no updates from the author. Where to next?

I’ve sent an email to the plugin developer to see whether any updates are forthcoming, I’ll report back here anything I find.

Seems like the cut-off was 1st October, as the last backup I see being done is 24th September (I do them weekly).

There is another backup option I use for a couple of sites where for some reason WPB2D wouldn’t work for me, which is UpdraftPlus. Still does backups to DropBox, still does multiple copies (though not incremental, they are multiple, full backups), my biggest bug bear with it (free version) is that all of the backups go into the one folder, instead of being able to separate them out like WPB2D does. I believe the premium version of UpdraftPlus will do this though.

I sent an email to the plugin developer a week ago for the same reason and haven’t heard anything back yet.

    Yeah @garypetersen same.

Bit the bullet and changed all my sites over to UpdraftPlus today.

I have gone over to Backup WD which seems to work very well.

WP Time Capsule also works well on Dropbox incremental backups.

I never did hear back from the author and have moved my blogs to UpDraftPlus. My first impression of it is quite good.
