• Hi there,

My products would be books (matching by title, ISBN, author etc.), and I would like to display price comparisons to various online book retailers, both small and large companies.

Does this plugin freely allow me to add websites/retailers of my choice and have their prices displayed? Also are the links compatible with affiliate programs (if the retailer has affiliate program) for these types of retailers?

    Thanks for your help

    Hi

You can add products from the affiliate networks and merchants we support: https://www.datafeedr.com/networks/

Since we only support products from those networks/merchants, that means they all have links from the affiliate networks.

Unfortunately if a product you want to promote is not from a merchant we support, you won’t be able to add that product.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Thanks for the reply, Eric.

I looked through your list of supported vendors, 18k +. Impressive! Unfortunately I was not able to find many/any of the smaller book retailers with affiliate programs, supported.

Are you actively adding to the list of supported merchants? What is required for a merchant to be added? An established affiliate program?

I would like to do book price comparisons, so potentially thousands of unique products/ISBN, likely populated by a bulk ISBN database import. Will Datafeedr work automatically or manually (per individual ISBN/product)?

    Hi

Yes, we actively add vendors to our list. If the vendor is part of one of the affiliate networks we support, we’ll do our best to add them. Here’s more info https://datafeedrapi.helpscoutdocs.com/article/27-request-a-missing-merchant

Datafeedr will work per individual ISBN.

If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Thanks,

Thanks for the merchant network link and answers.

So I should contact the merchants I’m interested in, and inquire if they have a data feed? How can I tell whether their data feed quality is high enough or recent enough? Are there specific questions I should be asking the merchant?

And in regards to integrating with ISBNs, I’d manually need reference them when I add the book to merchants I want to do price comparison/affiliate with?

First check if the merchants you are interested in are already a part of one of the affiliate networks we support.

Then, if they are, see if they offer a data feed on the network.

We remove data feeds from our system that are old and out of date.

Yes, you can manually reference ISBNs to create your Comparison Sets. So you could do something like this:

    [dfrcs isbn=”1408855895″]

    Hope this helps!
