Suport for offsite (CDN) image URI rewrites
-
Guten Tag Martin!
This is a great plugin and thanks for your hard work, Martin!
At some point, it would be nice if you could support plugins that perform re-writes of the image URIs.
For example, the “Media Cloud” plugin performs such a function. In my case, I use Amazon Web Services and this plugin will re-write to either the AWS URL or a DNS CName, if provided, however your plugin does not look for the image at the new location.
(See screenshot at https://imgur.com/gallery/l4ulHHn.)
Also, with this particular CDN plugin, you have the option to delay the upload to the CDN to enable other plugins to act upon the image prior to upload (and then delete from the server). (See https://imgur.com/gallery/yMuc1LC where the image has just been uploaded, but not yet deleted from the server
and see https://imgur.com/gallery/nHhYl58 a few minutes later.)
The particular theme I am using here (Enfold) creates a column for the featured image (and there are plugins that do the same thing) and the image location is correct.
And here’s the media Library: https://imgur.com/gallery/6YXpnQs. Note the little “Cloud” icon indicating that its a remotely hosted image.
In this case, the image is hosted at: https://cgawk.s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/23/madonna-drops-her-clothes-for-the-video-in-which-she-explains-whats-wonderful-about-coronavirus-check-out-the-outrageous-message-150×84.jpg.
Thanks in advance, Martin!
