My hosting company disabled suphp which has caused many unresolved problems for my WP sites. 3 sites I managed to backup after changing permissions but now all the sidebar widgets are gone. How do I get the widgets back? It is likely a permissions problem similar to all the other existing problems that weren’t there before.

Note, however, that all the sites I did not touch all still show the sidebar widgets. Does anyone have any ideas what to change to get the widgets back?

Seems I cannot do anything to the sites – load images, save draft, do backups, use widgets, etc. without setting appropriate folder(s) to 777 permission.

The sidebars missing was temporarily solved by disabling WP-Widget Cache which I thought helped a lot since I have a lot of widgets I was using.
