• My sites were working fine but all of a sudden I was unable to save drafts, load images, create backups, my sidebars disappeared, etc.
Some messages said to set permissions to 777, while other errors gave no clue to the problem.
Hosting support said to set permissions to 777. Some things worked when they/I did, but others still have problems. It turned out “there was a failure with suphp and we had to disable it”.
Seems like all my WP sites (many) hosted with them are in a state of limbo now. I cannot easily make changes/update and setting permissions to 777 seems dangerous. Anyone know any workarounds to solve a host disabling of suphp that will work for someone having dozens of WordPress sites with the same permissions problems?
