Superb Security, highly reliable

I’ve been using Shield Security and Shield Security Pro from their early days several years ago, and watched the plugin go from a simple reliable tool to a fully featured Security Plugin Suite for WordPress.

Along the way the Support for the plugin has been excellent, though rarely needed.

There’s useful context sensitive help files easily available throughout the configuration pages and you can avail of anything from basic vanilla protection offered by a walk through setup wizard or tweak parameters all the way through to align security with how you administrate your WP Installs, locking down anything you don’t use or need.

The Pro product takes things to the next level allowing White Labelling, and the facility to replicate your preffered settings across multiple websites. As we run multiple websites for our clients we’ve used Shield on various Themes, and website service types including WooCommerce Sites and Booking Facilities.

Lately we’ve also seen integration with MainWP Dashboard, and PHP 7 has become the minimum bar of entry allowing us time to migrate older projects over from legacy PHP 5.x installs with plenty of warning up front from the Shield Support Newsletter.

The other great thing about this, and other plugins we enjoy using, is the moderated use of any kind of warnings in the dashboard. If we get a warning or an email from Shield it’s because it’s actually really important. That’s something we look for in Plugins, no dashboard spam.

All in all worth a look.
