• Hi,

My website is very slow (95% of the times), I’ve used W3 Total Cache plugin to optimize it and it and it still has a very weird performance, sometimes pages load really fast (less than a second) and sometimes they may take 15 seconds to load. I’ve tried everything from disabling all less important plugins and changing to default theme and it did not improve much.

When pages are taking too long to load I check the cpanel and these are the statistics I get:

I don’t think this is normal… There’s only one visitor (me) on the website for the statistics to be like that… Right?

Do you think it is because of my hosting plan? It’s a shared hosting plan but still I don’t think this should be the behaviour…

    Would appreciate some help.

    Thank you for the response.

I have checked your website and for what I can see everything works really fast.

Are you logged in to your website when it is loading slow? Can you try visiting your website incognito without being logged in and see if that makes a difference?

According to Pagespeed, the response time is very high, for two reasons:
    The images are not optimized.
External scripts hinder the loading process.

The latter in particular could be a reason why the site is only sometimes slow. Have a look:

The performance of the website is very weird, I can navigate through most pages and pages open almost immediately so I don’t think the images are the issue (just the add to cart button is very slow, takes some long seconds to add items to cart). But when it comes to opening and navigating through the admin it is really slow, I don’t understand why… And sometimes it is really slow for all pages and I get the service unavailable error and the website just doesn’t work, and that’s when I notice the server resources are all almost at the max.

threadi what external scripts are you referring to? Do you really think that that might be the issue??

Update: I’ve installed a fresh copy of wordpress, the theme and just the required plugins for the theme on a subdomain just to see the performance and it seems a little bit better (keeping in mind I didn’t optimize it/had any cache plugin). I’d say it takes an averga of 3-4 seconds to load pages. However sometimes a weird thing happens, the pages keeps loading and loading and it takes something like 30 seconds to a minute to load, it’s rare but it happens. So it leads me to think it’s really a server issue and I should change hosting/upgrade?

The scripts that had blocked are now gone. You can still see what is now blocked here at Pagespeed:
    https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-tallisma-com/903oefvck9?form_factor=mobile
Above all, it is the images that are not output in the right format and dimensions. Possible solutions are also linked at PageSpeed.
