    Is there a way to have a large featured post section for the homepage?

    and also two small featured post below it

    Featured post is actualy covered using the “Surely – Recent Posts” widget, and you can put the widget in “Full Width Header Widget” widget area.

    “Surely – Recent Posts” despite the name, you can filter it per category or tags also can sort by most commented or by date. And when you put it in “Full Width Header Widget” or “Full Width Footer Widget” widget area you can see 4 option to present the posts, check this demo hre: https://theme.gahar.co/surely/ the slider and 4 post grid below is both using the same widget.
