Super annoying sales notifications

  • I had a lot of trouble finding the plugin that caused unexplainable latest sale notifications to pop up on a customers site. I did not expect this to come from an elementor items extension… It is also a huge privacy issue since the sales are shown with full name and place… This should immediately be changed! I also would prefer such extensions to be seperate plugins or at least properly names – an elementor item extension should not cause woocommerce popups, especially not with such big privacy issues… Also the popups were coming up without a stop and could not even be closed.

    Thanks for your valuable feedback.

    In the HTMega plugin, the option to show the sales notifications remains disabled by default. We are not quite sure why you encountered this issue?

    If you don’t want to display the sales notifications, there is an option available in this plugin to disable the option.

    We actually integrated this option into our plugin so that customers don’t need to use any third-party plugins.

    About the privacy issue:

    With due respect, we would like to inform you that there are plenty of sales notification plugins out there that display the full name and location. Furthermore, most of the users prefer notifications like this. If you have any suggestions, please let us know. We’ll try to take those into consideration.

    I don’t know why it happened as well – I am actually sure I did not activate it myself because then I would have known where to look for the issue… it rather appeared after installing other plugins – therefor I tried disabling them and did not suspect HTMega to cause the sudden issue.

    However regarding privacy: I am sure most users would prefer that their full names, purchases and place of living are not shown to random strangers… I also think that it is kind of lame to use other plugins as an excuse – one should strive for doing it better and not just like all the others…

    It would be much better if you added some options like ?show only first name“, ?only show first letter of last name“ and ?hie place“. Also in europe I am pretty sure that one cannot use this feature like it is right now due to the strict privacy laws!

    Besides the privacy issues, the notifications also popped up constantly and could not even be closed – you should look into this.
