summary of posts not working

  • I am trying to get my site to just show the beginning of the post and a link at the bottom to “Read the rest of this story”.
    I tried changing it at the “reading settings” changing it from “full text” to “summary”.

    these settings are for rsds feeds only – they have no effect on the templates.

    you will need to edit the corresponding templates of your theme.

    I am sorry. I can’t figure it out. I have tried changing “content” to “excerpt” on a few different templates but none have worked. What template do I need to do it in?

    Woooo hooo, I got it. Thanks for that link. No way I would have found that on my own, well at least this week. haaaaa.
    Now the part I am trying to do is get my pictures from my posts to show in the “excerpt”. Any clue?
