    Hi guys,

first of all congratulation for what you have done so far. I have been looking quite some time exactly for what you have developed with Meow lightbox/gallery/retina… It is already amazing.

However, for the time being I decided not to replace my current lightbox. For two reasons:

    1. Apparently, as has been discussed before, WP caption and titel are not being used. That means, that currently I can’t influence the caption/title metadata that is shown. And I don’t want to replace each and every image on my webpage.

    2. The buttons for navigating between the images are much too small. They can be easily overseen.

Apart from that, I would like to share two other, but less important points.

    1. I would love to have the lens displayed with the camera. Currently, there is only the focal length displayed.

    2. There appears to be a smaller bug regarding metadata. I have the same image on a gallery page and in a blog post. On the gallery page, the exposure time was displayed with 1/3200, whereas in the blog post it was displayed with 1/2000.

As I said before, you can be really proud of what you did already. Meow lightbox is a fantastic approach. Therefore, I will track the further development. As soon as the mentioned issues are solved, I will switch and probably use also some of your pro-solutions. I am definitely interested!

Thank you so much and keep on developing!

    Cheers,
    Andreas

  • Hello Andreas !

First of all, thank you very much for your kind words and encouragements, It’s always a pleasure to hear that people enjoy what we are doing !

You pointed out 2 interesting points, yesterday another user actually pointed them out too !

We already fixed the title/caption “issue”, and we should update the plugin soon with this fix.

For the arrows size … well, I guess that if everyone think it’s too small I will make them bigger, It should be pushed in the next update too !

For your other suggestions regarding the metadatas, I think that Jordy will be able to give you a better answer than me soon.

Thank you again for your support and suggestions,

    Best regards,
    Thomas

    Quick reply ??

    1. I would love to have the lens displayed with the camera. Currently, there is only the focal length displayed.

Actually lens information is not standard EXIF. This information is in the RAW file but it is written also in the EXIF, however in different ways depending on the maker. So it’s actually difficult to support but I think I will try and little by little try to cover all of them, but that will be a very beta feature (and for some time).

    2. There appears to be a smaller bug regarding metadata. I have the same image on a gallery page and in a blog post. On the gallery page, the exposure time was displayed with 1/3200, whereas in the blog post it was displayed with 1/2000.

This information comes straight from EXIF so if it’s wrong, unfortunately… as you might have guessed… when the image was generated, the wrong values were inserted. How are the EXIF information displayed in your post? Are you using another plugin?

    Hi Thomas, Hi Jordy,

Thank you very much for your quick and supportive answer! As soon as the next update is available, I will switch.

In the meantime I solved the issue with the exposure times. It was, of course, my fault. There are two different pictures that look almost identical. That means, that there is no such bug in your plugin. Mea culpa maxima!

I am looking forward for the next update!

Thanks again and have a nice evening!

    Cheers,
    Andreas

    Hi Thomas, hi Jordy,

great news! From my point of view, this is a substantial step forward! The lens exif info even covers the used converter.

I love it! Looking forward for further developments.

    Thanks again!

    Cheers,
    Andreas

    Hello Andreas,

I’m really glad that you liked the update !

Don’t worry, we have a lot of ideas to continue to improve this Lightbox ( and our other plugins ) !

I’m now closing this thread, but feel free to open a new one if you have any other suggestion.

Oh and as Jordy said earlier, a review is always highly appreciated, especially for a new plugin like this one haha

    Best regards,
    Thomas
