I dont know how but AMP legacy theme works well with Divi and Extra theme (both elegant themes). Most of divi shortcodes or simple layouts works with AMP legacy theme but not the Other reader themes.

if you can add these basic functionality AMP legacy theme like all wordpress theme has it.
    1. a optional sidebar – at least a three column footer.
    2. Two Menues – a Top Bar & Footer.

    3. Comment system or option to use jetpack comments.

I am using twenty twenty for Amp version but i still think AMP legacy one is best as very clean and best readable.

Please Brand it as A default or recommended one and add it.

We do not plan to add additional features to the AMP Legacy theme. We cannot do so for backwards-compatibility concerns and also because its foundation is limited to viewing individual posts and not displaying the entire site.

We’d rather want to improve how the plugin works when a Reader theme is chosen and you have Divi and Extra active.

What specifically is the issue you’re seeing with the shortcodes when a Reader theme is selected? Is it that the [...] shortcodes are showing up in the content?

This may be due to the shortcodes being defined in the theme itself. If so, this is not a best practice in WordPress theme development. If the shortcodes were moved to a plugin then they would work when a Reader theme is selected. The reason why they wouldn’t work now is that when a Reader theme is selected the entire theme is switched during an AMP request. So that is why the shortcodes defined in the Extra theme would not be working.

In AMP plugin v2.1 we are going to be improving the settings screen and onboarding wizard to detect for such a theme compatibility issue. See https://github.com/ampproject/amp-wp/issues/4795
