• Hello Sir Munir Kamal,

You are an awesome and amazing person. I keep asking myself what entered your head, to inspire you to create such a powerful and amazing WordPress plugin?

Oh my goodness, you are the best. I just heard about Editor Plus today, and I’m completely blown away by it. Oh my, you are extremely amazing.

I will make a few suggestions and ask a few questions as well:

    SUGGESTIONS
I believe that the best way to excel is to learn from the Masters.

Elementor Page Builder are masters in the game.

Can you go through every Widget that Elementor Page Builder has, and reproduce all of those widgets in Editor Plus?

Elementor Page Builder has about 90 widgets in the Pro and free versions combined.

For a start, can you reproduce all of those 90 widgets in Editor Plus?

    QUESTION
How long do you plan to support this plugin?

I mean that— do you have plans for this plugin to continue into the next 10 years from now?

Needing to hear from you soon.
    Regards.

    Hey @gamicord

First of all thank you for the appreciation and feedback, that’s really amazing to read. ??

Now to answer your questions and suggestions:

Can you go through every Widget that Elementor Page Builder has, and reproduce all of those widgets in Editor Plus?

I suppose we don’t really need another Elementor inside Gutenberg. Now similarly more users may suggest adding all widgets in other page builders like divi, beaver, etc. So that won’t be a doable thing.

The idea and philosophy of this plugin is to extend the Gutenberg editor with tools and features that are missing and worth adding. That means I may not be adding everything available in other page builders or tools, but, only those features that are useful and must needed for the vast WordPress users. And for that we do our internal research and discussion to decide on what features to add and what not.

That said, we always consider user feedback in that process, obviously. ??

How long do you plan to support this plugin?

I have good plans in-place about this plugin, I can tell you this is here to stay. So, without any promises, I can see this to stay and evolve over next many years.

Hope that answers your questions, please feel free to ask more.

    Regards,
    Munir

Thanks for your reply. In response, this is what I will say—

One of the reasons that people despised Gutenberg is because of a lack of useful functionalities— necessities that Page Builders like Elementor, Divi, Beaver Builder and so on, now provide.

While I love the fact that you’ve brought power to Gutenberg, you must also understand that such power is useless if it doesn’t provide much needed tools and functionalities that Page Builders provide.

Have you ever wondered why Page Builders like Elementor etc succeeded?

It was simply because they gave us the much needed widgets.

So, I’m convincingly saying to you that Elementor is now a master in the game with 5 Million plus users, and with 90+ widgets.

Even if you say “screw other Page Builders” and add only Elementor’s 90+ widgets to Editor Plus, I’m telling you that Editor Plus will still be a resounding success.

You may not have caught the vision of what I’m telling you, but think it over, and you’d see that I’m correct, and have told you the truth.

But don’t also misunderstand me– Gutenberg already has some things that Elementor and some other Page Builders have. What you may do, may be to minus the already existing widgets and add the remaining that are still missing. Does that look doable?

In that way, you would have raised the game for Editor Plus and Gutenberg, and would make Gutenberg kinda useful somehow: What I mean is this– Why would I leave my Elementor that gives me so much power? And use Gutenberg with so much limitations?

The secret is in providing rival functionalities, and also being ahead in the game.

Needing to hear from you soon.

    Regards

Speaking as a fellow “WordPresser” and Elemenotr user, I disagree with all of your statements.
It’s not the widgets that are essential, and (it seems) there’s more widgets available for free, for Gutenberg, than there ever were for Elementor.
    Maybe have a search.

Yet adding more and more widgets on either is bound to cause issues, and bloat.

What IS essential usability however is control of the design, css and have reliable layout – pagebreaks, etc.
And while Gutenberg is in its current state, these are all pretty damn broken.

All of which is entirely outside the scope of this plugin.

    Hi @gamicord

I understand your points and suggestions froma page builder user perspective. However we need to analyze and do due research on what we can and should add to EditorPlus that’s worth for majority of users and that it doesn’t bloat teh plugin or Gutenberg editor.

That said, I have noted your suggestion and will have internal discussion about it. Rest assured, we are committed to add those features that worth adding, but, not blindly adding all that Elementor has.

    I hope you understand that.
