Suggestion to make Paid Dating Sites with Rencontre

This can also be done by specifying X days for free users, after which they need to pay for access to the site.

A completely free site would be a very large X, e.g. 1000

Normally a paid dating site would give a free trial for some days, e.g. 3 days, or 7 days. X would be 3 or 7 here.

A completely paid site with no free trial would have X=0

That way just by the variable X one can go from free to paid.

It seems to me some people use S2member with Rencontre but I have no feedback.
If you are not in a hurry, plugin premium will come soon with a lot of payment options.

I’d also be interested in downloading this if I could charge members. Do you have a release date for the paid option?

Great..here are some more inputs:
0. The best strategy I found was to just have X days for free…Right now I am offering a free 5 day trial. The message counter option is too complicated for them, better to do just a monthly billing, with X trial days.
1. I am only charging guys for now, the interface should have a quick way to charge only men (women free). Later on might charge both.
2. A way to integrate the already paying members in the kit
3. The payments option for me right now is just a bank transfer-the plugin should take people to a simple html page (wordpress page) and not necessarily a credit card (most people in latin america do not have a credit card).

The kit will be available in may for a low price.
You will be able to create different categories (free, silver, gold…) with many options (chat, webcam, messages, number of photo…) and different periodicity and prices for payment.
Members may pay with paypal, Payplug (eurozone), post and bank transfer. Some WordPress payment plugins will be compatibles later on.

Great Jacques…please note that the number of trial days needs to be a variable, I myself have changed it a number of times (from 0 to 3 to 5 days) depending on the demand in the market (registrations).

Another thing. What happens when a client has their trial period end or their subscription expired? I would like to be able to display a custom message to them-this can be a popup also. This message box should accept html, because on this message I can link to the payments page (a simple html page) where there are details of how to pay.

The way I have it set up is this-when a subscription expires, or a trial period ends, the person gets a message at the top which says that their account has expired and they need to pay to continue, and there is a link to the payments page. Something like this hopefully you can incorporate in your payments module.

Also, is possible, can you make the module reversible, so that if it doesn’t work out for me (or another webmaster) I can revert back to the original without problems?

This plugin is (will be) full reversible. Just unactive-it and … all is free.
