Suggestion re Latest Activity widget formatting

As I suggested, the number of lines could be reduced by bringing the forum/topic onto the same line as the abbreviated freshness. It is also difficult to read because it is not clear where the break is between topics – you really have to work it out. Ideally, a little extra space would indicate that, but that may be difficult. Alternatively to embolden the topic title or even just put a * on the front, thus

I’ve taken a look.

Much of how this displays is dependant on how you theme does styling, and how long your titles are.

This is usually added by your theme in the ‘list’ styling. Many themes have this, so it is up to your theme styling to add this. Putting in my plugin would make it confusing for themes that already have this.

I like this idea, and had a play, but where you have longer forum titles in many themes this would look worse.

Like all things I need to compromise for the majority !

I have however added some styling to this widget, and there is a new tab in the settings to let you do this, which might help you make headings and other elements clearer

The new version will be out hopefully by the time you read this.

Thank you for your response and the amazingly quick addition of the styling tab for the Latest Activity list.

Making the Topic/Reply title bold just makes it clear where the start of each ‘paragraph’ starts and is a big improvement.

The various styles you have provided don’t seem to work consistently, at least with my theme ‘Attitude’. I tried giving a link colour (section 7) and some of the topic title links are coloured and some are not. I have used the Safari web inspector to check what is being generated and I can see no difference between the ones that are coloured an those that are not – all use class=”bps-la-reply-topic-title” and have the same structure in the html. Very strange.

Anyhow, the bold and a larger font does work for me. Thanks, Tony.

Thanks for your patience – yes getting a plugin to work with every theme is impossible, but I hope that I have got most of them.

If you can post a link or two to examples, I can take a look and see if I can improve the plugin

Robin… by design the activities are only available to logged-on users.

I am, this evening, launching the site and issuing invitations to my users to register.

Later this week I expect to have set up a shadow testing site and I could make the Activities visible to you or allow you to log on and see how it looks and twiddle with the settings, if you wish.

If so, please let me know how to communicate log on credentials to you. I will be not ready for a couple of days.
