At present, templates are stored in the theme directory structure. That’s OK, but it’s a tad awkward when changing theme – you have to move the templates over to the new theme.

I see that I can use the block_lab_override_theme_template to change the path/filename on a per-template basis, but could there be a Block Labs plugin setting to set the path for all templates? That way we could have a location set aside independently of theme.

Just a thought, and not at all critical.

Yeah, that’s a good idea. Have you looked at the block_lab_template_path filter?

Though maybe you had in mind a UI setting.

Yes, I did mean a UI setting when I first posted this, but on reflection I think the filter is better. I’d not seen it until you mentioned it. Maybe I should learn to search this forum.

A follow-up question or two. Is the filter called each time a template is needed? And is the filter supplied with the name of the block whose templates are required? That second parameter looks like it should be the one, but it’s hard to tell.

No, although the second parameter, $template_names, has templates that include the block name.
