Hi! I liked the new update for this week (with the fix for Instagram links and the big publish window with Discover card, huge thanks for help!!), and i have a suggestion for future updates: a option to not show the popup background message. Because some editors will have set an background picture for many (or all) webstories pages, and i need to close the popup many times.

    Popup background in web stories

I don’t know if its possible, because its a important message, but some veteran users for plugin will have knowledge about the feature, to move (or zoom) the background. Or show only in first background and not show the popup in another pages.

In this week, for example, i create an stories with more thank 50 pages because its a game guide. Its difficult if i need to close the popup to all times. Yes, its not a normal situation and the recomendations its create stories with small sizes (5 to 10 pages), but in few times i need to get more pages.

Thanks in Advaced and sorry for my bad english.

Added information: the popup showed when i added the image and move the image to outside page, to generate a background.

And only now (with more tests and new stories) i have see the “+” button to add image in background. In some times, if i add the image and tried to move to generate the background, not showed the image.

@rodrigoflausino Thanks for sharing these videos. Unfortunately, I was not able to reproduce the issue you are experiencing.

We have a “keyboard shortcut” to disable snapping and drop targets when the ? is pressed. Perhaps you can check if this could be the reason why your images aren’t snapping in as the background.

Hi! About to second video, its a irregular bug (doesn’t happen every time), but you can try to insert the image with background in first page (with + button), and insert the same image in second page and try to move to border, and not have a background effect (for example a square image, with 1000×1000 pixels). And after this, i tried to set another image in second slide and a tried to move the border to increase dimensions, but with mouse, i only the set in “0” position (in X) with insert value directly.

I know about future update to check if the editor uses the same image in many pages from a Story (and set this with bad practice). Sometimes i create in this format when i use a large phrase/text in second page.

About the keyboard shortcut, i will tried this more times.

@rodrigoflausino Unfortunately, I still was not able to reproduce this issue. Another thing we can confirm is where you are dragging the element to snap into the background. Are you dragging it to the edge of the canvas or off outside of the canvas?

Hi @rodrigoflausino! Hope all is well. Apologies for the late update here. Just wanted quickly update you that in version 1.19.0 of the Web Stories plugin the snackbar message should only display once now. Hopefully, you were able to see that on your end too.

We’ll mark this topic as resolved but as always, you’re welcome to open a new support topic if you have further issues or questions. Thank you!!
