    Hello dear

In the last days I had problems with bandwidth. I host my pdf files on Dropbox, but somedays the bandwith consuptiom was excesive.

Then I like me suggest a new option for the Google Doc Embedder plugin.

I like me suggest the next option (optional, of course):

    – the pdf visor NOT showing the PDF, only show a button with this text or some similar “click here for view the document”

when the visitor click in the button, then the document download and render

I think is a easy solution for the problems with banwitdh

    Thanks for help me

This has been suggested before and is already possible by creating links to Google Viewer directly. As GDE is a document viewer it doesn’t have need to create links for you; this is already baked into WordPress.

There is even a tool to automatically generate these links that can be found at: https://docs.google.com/viewer

If you want functionality that GDE adds like a better looking toolbar or private document support, you can create the viewer shortcode as you normally do, copy the link of the full screen view, and delete the shortcode creating a standard link using what you copied.

I know that GDE can make this option available and perhaps slightly more convenient, but the need for a document viewer to create links really seems minimal so I haven’t felt the value to spend development time in this area.

    Hope this helps,

    Kevin

    OK, Kevin, thanks for support.

Is not possible a lazy load for the Viewer?

I am marking many older questions here as resolved since there have been many recent changes to the functionality of this plugin. Please ask again in a new thread if you feel your question is still relevant.
