    I am not sure if you are aware of the mshots function of wordpress but perhaps it would make sense to leverage that to render the images instead of relying on an outside service to provide them. This plugin here already uses the function to create thumbnails. Perhaps you could use it to take your plugin a step farther.

    Many thanks for the tip.

    As WordPress has retired the Blogroll function, the main raison d’etre of this plugin no longer exists.

    Without the blogroll system for adding links, this plugin has nothing to display.

    Admittedly there was a standalone function but as you’ve pointed out there are already plugins that do that.
