Suggestion: Detect and warn if potential redirect loop: “Too many redirects”

Occasionally we hit a “too many redirects” error – always caused by ourselves when we accidentally redirect a URL to another URL which we didn’t realise is redirected back to the original URL. This normally happens if we’re changing a URL on a page back to a URL we previously called it, but also happens when we import in bulk and don’t realise there is a conflict.

As a feature suggestion, it would be great if the Redirections plugin could warn when a redirection loop was about to take place. e.g. on save, check if a redirection loop would be created, and warn the user instead of saving.

Or to allow for importing in bulk, maybe a warning could appear at the top of the redirects screen if any redirect loops are detected.

Not sure if this has been requested before, but would be great to have as an additional feature, if you feel it could be useful.
