First off, this is a fantastic plugin, and has become one those must-have tools for any aged WordPress system.

That said, I am running into an issue that I think would make this plugin even more useful than it already is: the ability to search within shortcodes of a post’s content.

As an example, I am using Themify’s framework for themes and their shortcodes within the content to create the button links style I prefer. The syntax is like this:

    [themify_button style="xlarge orange rounded gradient" link="https://google.com/"]Anchor text[/themify_button]

My assumption is that the plugin is searching for href tags. But it is not searching for http or https strings within the post’s content, which makes you rely on either manually editing every post, or using a Search and Replace plugin.

Having the ability to instruct the plugin to also check within shortcodes, or the ability to specify a string to include in the list of search options would be great.

    Just a suggestion. Thanks.

    Hi @rongo,

BLC indeed doesn’t check shortcodes for broken links but it’s actually something already on our to-do list for future improvements.
I don’t have an ETA for this at the moment but we do plan to see it in one of the upcoming releases.

    Cheers,

Thanks Predrag. Hopefully that addition is added sooner than later. Beyond checking for links in shortcodes, this plugin has become a must have. Having the ability to search shortcodes would be very welcome.

    Incidentally, WordPress is reporting

Warning: This plugin has not been tested with your current version of WordPress.

I can confirm it is indeed working for me on WordPress 5.7

    Hi @rongo

I hope you are doing well.

The WPMU DEV plugins support the latest WordPress version, we don’t have an estimated time to release a new version but I also added a note to our developers so we can update the tested up the most recent WordPress version.

    Best Regards
