suggestion: 2fa page text not clear
-
Suggestion for a text change on your 2FA page.
On your 2fa admin page is written, “Two-Factor Authentication, or 2FA, significantly improves login security for your website.”1.
2fa helps secure an account. It does not secure a website, service, or anything else. By definition, 2fa means: Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a second layer of security to protect an account.
Think about 2FA on a google account. Its just that. It secures the account. It doesn’t secure Google Docs, or any other Google websites/services. Instead, it secures the account. Other things like TLS and authorization rules secure Google Docs and services.2.
That text is only applicable for website owners. Aka site admins. Every other role (subscribers, editors, contributors, etc.) it doesn’t make sense. Try it yourself. Create a user in WP that is a Contributor. Enable 2fa for the Contributor role. Login with that Contributor user. Visit the admin area and you can see the 2fa page. As a Contributor that text doesn’t really work. A Contributor isn’t responsible for “your website”.A suggestion for updated text that addresses both 1 and 2 is…
“Two-Factor Authentication, or 2FA, significantly improves security of your account.”
