Suggested Improvements to TwitterLink Comments
-
Just some thoughts. Hope the plugin author will consider.
- Twitter field in the user profiles, so that at least the admin can manually update their existing registered users. As you can see, the twitter field (at least in my case where I installed the field manually) is not visible for logged in users.
- In line 278 where the plugin chops off the ‘@’ and ‘https://twitter.com/’ entries, it should also include (or chop off) ‘https://www.twitter.com/’ entries.
- At least include in the documentation that for manual installation of the twitter ID field like me, other than the
name="atf_twitter_id"
attribute to add in the input field, you can also addvalue="<?php echo $comment->twitlinkid; ?>"
so that for returning commentators they don’t have to reenter their twitter ID (just like name and email) - The plugin should not save Twitter ID’s of those accounts whose comments were not approved or were caught in spam. This is a problem since all spam comments who entered the Twitter ID’s are saved in the database, and in the long run could bloat the database.
If I could come up with other suggestions I’ll just add in the replies. Yet, this is a great plugin that I’m glad it exists.
