    Hello,

I manage 8 websites. 2 of them are failing with connection timeout issues.

    Namely this error:
Connection timed out after 30001 milliseconds.

    Wordpress is 5.7
    Wordfence is 7.5.2

This has been working on WFC for months with NO issues at all. This is very sudden.

    I found this article: https://www.wordfence.com/help/central/connect/#troubleshooting-connection-issues

But we don’t use Cloudflare, Incapsula, Sucuri or WP Spamshield so I followed the instructions at the bottom that says “Other connection issues”

The REST API is not disabled nor does it require authentication.

So I tried reconnecting the sites from the Wordfence dashboard. No success.

So I tried removing it and manually adding it but it says:
    Unable to resolve domain redirects.

So the other suggedtion was to Clear all Wordfence Central connection data
by going to Tools -> Diagnostics -> Other Tests and clicking the CLEAR CONNECTION DATA button. Alas, No success.

So I then proceeded to deactivate ALL plugins except wordfence and retry the connection. YET AGAIN, no success!

I checked the Site Health page and no critical problems EXCEPT the background updates that are disabled because we manage the updates through ManageWP and ALL plugins are up to date anyway.

So I then disabled mod_security on the cPanel account. NOPE…no success!

So I completely clear the .htaccess and retry. NO success.

I even checked the SSL certificates and both are 100% fine. No Chain issues!

Now I am at a complete loss and looking at this going “The other 6 sites work 100% except these two?? WHY? What is different??”

Please can someone help me out here because I’m scratching my head on this one.

UDPATE: While I was waiting for a reply on this ticket (which there was none, just for the record) I decided today to retest the connection and by some miracle it is just working now. So everything is connecting again. This must have been a problem either with some DNS cache or the host itself that they have now resolved.
