• I’d been using this plugin for two years without a problem. Then yesterday it suddenly stopped working. No visitors logged at all. No explanation.

I tried deleting the plugin and reinstalling it, and clearing the cache. Nothing got the plugin working again.

Did that first. Ticket 224269. Tarak answered, but he didn’t seem to understand (or care) that this was a plugin issue. He just told me to manually add the statcounter code to my web site. So I posted this message here.

    Hello,

I just updated your ticket today.

It seems there are other plugins been used and their javascript is causing issue with our plugin.

Unfortunately there is no way to confirm it, one of the option is to add code directly in footer as ultimately the underlying script with the plugin and code is still the same.

    OR

try moving the placement of plugin from footer to header however this is not recommended.

Hi Tarak, As I mentioned in our support correspondance. I’ve been using the same set of plugins for over a month. On the day that the StatCounter plugin stopped working, I only changed one setting in the Autoptimize plugin. I disabled HTML optimization.

Side note to @statcountersupport Thanks for the great support but please lose the signature. That’s prohibited in these forums as it’s been horribly abused in the past by others.

    Sincerely

Yes, bad people ruin it for others. No, I am not kidding. Please refrain from that.
