Suddenly not supporting blocks on front page

    Hi – I logged in this morning to update the featured products on the front page of our site and got an error message:

    Your site doesn’t include support for the “woocommerce/handpicked-products” block. You can leave this block intact or remove it entirely.

    This also showed for the featured-category blocks on the rest of the page.

    I last updated it on Monday or Tuesday, when everything was fine. I noticed this morning that ‘Otter’ was active, which I couldn’t remember seeing before. I disabled that plug-in, but the problem remained. I rang IONOS – they couldn’t help and suggested I contact WooCommece. Our site itself seems to be running fine.

    I’ve posted the WooCommerce status report and a screenshot of the problem below. I’d be very grateful for any advice – Tom M

    Thanks for reaching out!

    I understand that you encountered the above error message when trying to update the featured products on your site, is this correct?

    This is not something I am able o replicate on my test site, as both the Featured Category block, as well as the Hand-picked Products block both display as expected.

    Could you please check if there are any browser console errors being displayed on the page and share your findings with us here. ?You can read more about?using your browser console to identify errors here.

    Also, does clearing the browser cache make any difference? I’d also suggest ensuring that you are using a supported and up-to-date browser. This can be checked here:

    Additionally, please clarify if this occurs in various browsers or only a specific browser? You can also check in private/incognito mode.

    Hi again – I haven’t made any progress with this, and the page is still showing the same messages as in the screengrab with my original post

    The page works and looks fine when you visit it, but when I try to edit it (ie change the products in the Featured products box, I get the same stuff

    Browsers: I went in via Firefox, and got exactly the same result (I usually use Chrome)

    ‘Brower console errors’: I followed the instructions in the link but just got a load of tech gobbldigook that I had no idea what to do with

    Any further suggestions would be a big help

    It seems like there might be a conflict with either your theme or one of the plugins installed on your site. Unfortunately, we are unable to reproduce it on our end. Could you try testing if there is a conflict with another plugin? That would help us diagnose what’s going on.

    Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you troubleshoot the issue:

    • Theme Conflict Test: Temporarily switch your theme to the default Storefront theme. This will help us determine if the issue is related to your current theme.
    • Plugin Conflict Test: Deactivate all plugins except WooCommerce and see if the issue persists. If it doesn’t, reactivate your plugins one by one until you find the one causing the conflict.
    • Clear Cache: Clear your browser’s cache and cookies. Sometimes, outdated cache files can cause issues with how webpages function.
    • Update: Ensure that your WordPress, WooCommerce, and all other plugins are up-to-date. Outdated versions can sometimes cause compatibility issues.
