Suddenly images cropped – can’t “uncrop” so it shows zoomed in cut-out

    Hey,

    I spent already many hours with Depicter but it sometimes behaves in such a strange way.

    e.g. font changes just like that from medium to thin, position changes, .. I had to redo many things, many times. It’s like whenever you touch something things move around.

    But the worst part is the cropping image issue. Just like that (I didn’t find a pattern yet) the image is suddenly shown cropped. I think this goes back to modifying things on different responsive views.

    It all looks good in Depicter, but on the page itself it shows e.g. a 500% crop / cut-out of the image. Even when looking at the source code it already loads the cropped / cut-out image.

    I think the only way to get it sorted is to delete the image.

    I can’t imagine I am the only one seeing those things happening.

    What could I do about that? It makes this good plugin 100% unusable.

    I think what can help is to go to each affected image on each breakpoint and slightly change the size and publish again. It helped, and I didn’t need to delete the image to add it again.

    But the issue is definitely there, I have seen it as others many many times

    It’s unfortunately pretty random. I am also afraid to touch things, as it’s always a lot of work. I think things improved when I disabled “responsive resizing” (forgot the exact wording of that function) on every element, e.g. image, text

    That feature definitely leads to problems, I can’t say for sure if it is related with the image zooming / cropping.

    I can tell it is there, it’s happening just like that, it’s not just me but many other as well, it happens already for many months at least according to other posts in here

    Hi.

    If the cropping happens unexpectedly or randomly, then we need to look for a compatibility problem because at this point we are absolutely sure that there is no inherent problem regarding this feature. Can you provide a sample page with your slider? Maybe we can understand the situation better.

    But if there is a confusion on how the cropping works, then maybe we can clarify that as I have explained here:

    Hey,

    Thanks for the updates – I am honestly trying to avoid to touch the slider in any way as there is some risk that it could mess up some things, and I try not to do that now. It could be that I need to rearrange/re-style a few things on the slider later, if so, I can get back to you and this thread to do further tests.

    I didn’t read anything in the recent changelogs about this topic, I don’t think there was an update of Depicter recently either. However, I know that many posted about that same issue in the past as well.

    What I and others experienced is (or was) clearly a bug or incompatibility. I am not 100% sure anymore if I could reproduce it on a fresh WP install, but I have seen it on more than one install when using WoodMart (if that matters)
