Suddenly Getting Error 2038 after updates

I have had no problems until recently when I upgraded both wordpress and nextgen to the latest version. Some photos will upload fine, others will not at all on any browser. Zip files rarely work too. Prior to these upgrades I had no problems, now more than half the photos I have tried to upload give me IO errors.

I have no idea why…
