• Recently I noticed that all of my pages, except my home page are showing a 404 (Page Not Found) Error. I don’t know why this has suddenly happened. Everything was just fine and all of sudden this occurred. My site is located at: https://www.rickrackandpolkadots.com

My concern is that I am not very technical and do not know how to write code. I have been very pleased at how easy it has been to use WordPress for my blog with minimal issues.

Can you please advise as to what is the best fix for this issue? It is important that I correct this as soon as possible.

You can reach me via my email at [email protected].

Thanks so much for your help.

  • Try updating your permalink settings at the backend. Note that permalink is generally set as ‘post-name’. Do it & see if it works. Best of luck.

Similar issue myself, but only when my site is running from a subdirectory.

If I change the permalinks to “default”, then it works fine, but switching back to “postname” breaks it again.

Because WordPress recommends linux operating system in the server, please check your server if it is other than linux. Specially WordPress does not recommend Windows operating system in the server. And there are some issues regarding the windows operating system when it comes to compatibility with wordpress. Hope that helps!
