suddenely page refuses to redirect

Hello I am new so it maybe I am searching using the wrong words. Hopefully someone can understand from my attempt to explain my problem. I was redirecting what looked like 32 pages of 404 errors. The plugin seemed to be applying the redirects at first as I would check every redirect. Of course this was taking forever. I then tried clicking the whole page and entered my home page as the redirects. This seemed to work and helped to speed things up. But then I found one page labeled https://voteapet.com/author/admin/ every time I redirect this page to my home page of https://voteapet.com/#cgl it never redirects. In fact it looks like every time I try to redirect this page? It seems to create another identical 404 error. I now have at least (18) 404 errors all labeled as /author/admin/…. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I have tried logging out and then logging back in, i have tried changing to mark as 404, but that seems to do nothing. As you can see by my question I need beginner instructions if you can help. thank you.
