I had a friend help me with this and here is what he did:

“The API client itself, for whatever reason, isn’t passing the HTTP referrer, so google can’t validate it using the domain. I tried putting the new version in and it died, so instead I’ve gone the workaround route. What I’ve done is make a new API key, and set that to be IP restricted instead for the calendar. Meanwhile, you Google Map key remains referrer restricted.”

To fix this error. Log in to your Google Cloud Platform API & Services and for the key, edit it and remove the http from the url or just remove the restrictions all together.

    So instead of https://yourwebsite.com/*
    yourwebsite.com/*
