• Dear Forum members,

I have two questions: do I need to change email sending services? If so, how do I connect the new sender to MailPoet?

Deliverability: Without thinking too much about it, I sent my newsletter early on the morning of the U.S. Election Day. My open rate plunged to 1%. A few days later, I re-sent the newsletter with a new subject line to all of the subscribers who hadn’t opened/clicked, but still got an open rate under 2%. My engagement rate has been growing over the last months, so I was very surprised. I have always used double-opt-in for new subscribers and my content is family-friendly.

I checked to see if my website was blacklisted:

Reason for listing – Your ISP NAMECHEAP-NET, US/AS22612 is UCEPROTECT-Level3 listed because of a spamscore of 383.6. See: https://www.uceprotect.net/rblcheck.php?ipr=198.54.120.45

NameCheap told me that the Level 3 was too strict and caused “collateral damage”.

Does this mean I need to change the sender from MailPoet to another service in order to re-build my sender reputation?

How to connect Mailgun: If so, I tried to set up Mailgun, and got a new subdomain verified, but I can’t figure out the SMTP settings. Do I need another plugin? If so, which one?

    Thanks very much in advance!

    Regards,

    Laurel

Do I need a new MailPoet plan if I have to change to a new sender? I have the Legacy plan.

Thanks for sharing your website’s URL @ldecher .

Checking the sending logs for the domain laureldecher.com in the last 30 days I see that 590 emails were sent with a 99.32% delivery rate. Is that in line with what you experienced?

    Just a note on this:

Reason for listing – Your ISP NAMECHEAP-NET, US/AS22612 is UCEPROTECT-Level3 listed because of a spamscore of 383.6. See: https://www.uceprotect.net/rblcheck.php?ipr=198.54.120.45

This is actually more of an issue with your host, so changing the sending service wouldn’t have any effect. Are you on shared hosting environment?
