    I get my WordPress site through Ionos hosting, it is not a Ionos managed site but still works through some sort of ‘click and build’ for the basics.

    Yesterday I was informed of 113 critical issues through WordFence which has me worried. I am not a coder so the information about the files is somewhat unclear to me!

    For one of the 113
    The WordFence alert details say
    Details: This file appears to be installed or modified by a hacker to perform malicious activity. If you know about this file you can choose to ignore it to exclude it from future scans. The matched text in this file is: memory_limit = 268435456;\x0apost_max_size = 67108864;\x0asafe_mode = off;\x0aupload_max_filesize = 67108864;

    The issue type is: Suspicious:TXT/badphpini.9590
    Description: Suspicious php.ini instructions found alongside malware

    If I go to view the file it shows
    Wordfence: File Viewer
    Filename: /homepages/28/d740365789/htdocs/clickandbuilds/vgs/wp-includes/widgets/php.ini
    File Size: 101 bytes
    File last modified: Friday 18th of May 2018 09:10:59 AM
    memory_limit = 268435456;
    post_max_size = 67108864;
    safe_mode = off;
    upload_max_filesize = 67108864;

    It seems to me that this may be something that is part of Ionos set-up as it hasn’t changed since the WordPress site was created; but I really need to know whether I have to try and remove all these files. I am worried that if I do the whole link to Ionos will crash.

    Any help will be gratefully received.

    Hello @marywt and thanks for reaching out to us!

    This looks to have been a false positive on our end. We have changed that rule in place.

    Head over to your Wordfence > All Options > Advanced Firewall Options and click “Manually Refresh Rules”. This should fix the issue you were seeing.

    Let me know if you need anything else!

    Thanks!
