    Hi,

I’ve been running Sucuri under Windows IIS on many sites for a while and it does a great job.

But I have a site that is having “odd” folders created under the wp-admin folder. Sucuri is highlighting the changes, here is the list:
    Added ~31.00B wp-admin/D:/Plesk/VHOSTS/domain.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/sucuri/.htaccess
    Added ~39.00B wp-admin/D:/Plesk/VHOSTS/v.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/sucuri/index.html
    Added ~94.00B wp-admin/D:/Plesk/VHOSTS/domain.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/sucuri/sucuri-integrity.php
    Added ~18.00B wp-admin/D:/Plesk/VHOSTS/domain.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/sucuri/sucuri-lastlogins.php
    Added ~92.00B wp-admin/D:/Plesk/VHOSTS/domain.co.uk/httpdocs/wp-content/uploads/sucuri/sucuri-trustip.php

I’ve deleted them using FTP and they are coming back again.
As there is a “D:” under the wp-admin folder, it is playing havoc with my FTP downloads.

Any idea why these are being created?

    Cheers

    Paul

  • That is actually a bug in the plugin’s code, notice the concatenation of the “wp-admin” string with the “D:/…” file path. As you can see all these files are inside a directory named “/sucuri/” which is where the plugin stores the security logs, so first of all this is not malware, is just an error that I committed since I do not have a Windows server to run all the tests.

I will talk with one of my co-workers who uses a Windows machine to help me fixing this, for the time being you can simply ignore these files, or mark them as fixed. I will leave this ticket as “un-resolved” until I upload the new code with the patch for this error.

Thanks for the reply, any idea when we might get a fix?

A fix for this issue will take some time, mostly because inside the company I have assigned other projects and I have a big list of changes that I have to finish before I can focus in this plugin once again. I will ask one of my co-workers in the development team to see if he can take this task, if not then this will have to wait around two weeks or so.

Fixed with changeset 1140118 [1]. You can download the development version [2] of the plugin if you want to test the new changes. Thanks for the suggestion.
