• i recently successfully upgraded my wp blog website to https:// after getting an ssl certificate applied on my web-space.

so my final step was using the “better search replace” tool to change all of my

    https://mywebsite.com’
    to
    https://mywebsite.com’

and it all seems to be working just fine. and i’ve set up my 301 re-directs, and everything, and it seems to be working ok.

but i noticed that i can no longer log-in as admin under the url i had always previously used, in order to log-in, which was

    https://www.mywebsite.com/<WPsitedirectory/wp-admin

it seems like now, I have to use

    https://www.mywebsite.com/<WPsitedirectory>/login

    is this normal and ok?

also, that makes me wonder, what other things do i need to check are set a certain way, from within my WordPress admin dashboard, to make sure things are acting as they should, after having successfully implemented the ssl certificate and am successfully running https:// for my WP site? I just want to make sure my settings are as they should be.

  • Hello, seriouswpcues, & welcome. Did you change your home & site url settings in the general settings of your dashboard from https:// to https:// as well?

Can we see your .htaccess file if you have 1? You may wish to look to your web root folder as well as in the folder in which you installed WordPress.

Hello, @abletec , thank you for your response. Here are my answers to your questions:

    1) “WordPress Address (URL)” and “Site Address (URL)” are both changed to https:// . Is that correct?

    2) Are you asking for the purposes of 301 re-directs? Because, yes, those have been successfully installed and are working, too; users are successfully being auto-forwarded to https:// whenever they attempt to visit https:// .
