There seems to be a lot of posts asking for help from people having problem with the 3.2 update. I am just curious if we can start posting successful updates on this thread so we know that the update is not as scary as it may seem.

And perhaps also, was it a smooth upgrade process, or did you have minor problems?

Currently I’m upgrading the PHP to meet the minimum requirement.

Okay problem solved. Turns out that timthumb script doesn’t like the PHP 5.3.5 that I upgraded to and so I had to go back with a 5.2 and everything is fixed.

I suppose if it wasn’t for that issue with the timthumb script, everything would’ve been a smooth installation.

Hi Rick, I am stuck with the same issue. can you tell me how can i roll back. I too have the backups but can you tell me how to fix it..

I tend to run trunk on my site, but I have updated 5 sites with no problems at all.

Mine was mostly successful. The only issue was my theme which caused the “white screen of death.” I switched back to twenty ten and it popped right up. This morning my theme’s author had a new version out and after upgrading to that new version everything is running fine.

I haven’t even attempted any of my client’s sites yet.

All my sites with WP 3.2 are working.

I had a 3 seconds upgrade of my multisite.

all looking good on remote sites – great!

I saw a forum topic where someone said they lost their site upgrading to 3.2 The same thing happened to me. Luckily, I have vaultpress. After that the update went pretty good. The only thing is that my entire website menu is on the bottom of the dashboard page. Not really sure why. Would anyone know why that’s happening?

I was scared but so far have experienced an uneventful upgrade. See
    https://blogsnewsreviews.com/2011/scared-to-upgrade-to-wp-3-2/
and make sure to back up first.

I updated one of my sites to 3.2 from 3.1.4 (technical requirements met, not modded, the only plugins I have are Akismet and Google XML Sitemaps).

It seemed to update OK, I got the message at the end that confirmed the installation was successful, but when I reloaded the page (or any other page) it was stuck in maintenance mode. I had to manually delete the .maintenance file and now everything seems to be OK.

I would advise against upgrading for now. Wait for a revised version that cleans up properly after the update.

JackSim, the .maintenance file is actually a problem with your setup of PHP (happens all the time to me, my silly security settings get stupid).

Folks, if you have problems, make NEW topics. I’m closing this one.
