@mcsupport Thought I’d better make a new topic, since the other one is marked as solved.

I’ve installed the MailChimp List Subscribe Form plugin (Version 1.5.7) on a wordpress 4.7.2 installation, used the widget on my homepage (footer) of my game site (Never Ending Realms) and on the home page (footer) of my author site.

The form shows up, I can enter an email address and submit, but the message doesn’t show up. I do receive the confirmation email, so that part does work.

I have the default WP theme (TwentySeventeen) that comes with WP 4.7.2 and these are the plugins I’ve got running:
    – Advanced WP Columns (not on Author site)
    – Akismet
    – Custom Twitter Feeds
    – Instagram feeds (not on Never Ending Realms)
    – Jetpack
    – MailChimp List Subscribe Form plugin (listed as Mailchimp in the plugins overview, btw)
    – TinyMCE Advanced
    – Ultimate Social Media PLUS
    – Wordfence Security (On Never Ending Realms the free version, on my author site the premium version)
    – WP SVG Icons (not on my author site)
    – Yoast SEO

Javascript is enabled for both sites. I’m using Firefox 51.0.1 (32bit)

How can I get the success message to show up? Thanks!

    Hey there @sheriziya ,

Thanks for your post and for providing all of these details to help speed up our testing process. I’ve taken some time to do a bit of testing on my end and see that when using the TwentySeventeen WordPress theme, the in-line success and error messages do not appear when using the form.

This is definitely not ideal behavior, though I’d like to make sure we gather as much information as possible before jumping to conclusions. When you have the chance, could you write back with a few more information to help us accurately diagnose things?

    — Could you provide a screenshot of the settings page for the List Subscribe plugin
    — Could you try temporarily switching to a different WordPress theme to see if the error persists?

Thanks in advance for these details. I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

My sincere apologies, Malachite (@mcsupport). I had totally missed your reply!

I have tried Twenty Sixteen and I got exactly the same result. ??

    Hey @sheriziya,

Thank you so much for providing us with all of this information – I was able to replicate that behavior on my end as well and it seems to be related to a theme conflict. I noticed that after mirroring your plugin setup, using the themes Twenty Fourteen or Bazaar allowed the success message to be displayed as intended. However, when I tried switching to the themes Twenty Seventeen and Twenty Sixteen no success message was displayed. That certainly is a problem and I’ve gone ahead and passed these details along to our developers to allow them to dig in further. In the meantime, it may be a good idea to change themes or use an alternate form or plugin. These other options presented in the MailChimp knowledge base may be a good temporary solution while this issue is being further investigated on our side: https://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/ways-to-add-a-signup-form-in-wordpress

I apologize for the inconvenience – I realize this isn’t a lot of fun to deal with and we will see what can be done on our end to resolve these conflicts. Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention! Please let us know if you have any other plugin related questions we can help out with in the meantime.

    Thanks again,

    @mcsupport, Hey Pearl,

Thanks for the fast response. I’ll see if I can use an alternative way to include the sign up form. Changing themes is not really an option for me, due to this particular theme having the perfect style I want to display to the readers of my future books and the players of my game. ??

I hope the theme conflict can be solved soon!

    Thanks for looking into it!

    Hey @sheriziya,

You’re very welcome – thanks for bearing with us while we get this sorted! And please, feel free to reach back out at any time if you run into additional questions about the plugin. While we are unable to provide an ETA for resolution, I’ll update this thread once this issue has been resolved on our end.

    Thanks again,

@mcsupport Wondering if there’s an update on this issue. Thanks!

    Hi @sheriziya,

Thank you for reaching back out. It looks like this particular theme conflict has not been resolved yet. In the meantime an alternate signup form option mentioned in MailChimp’s knowledge base, here, may be a good idea: https://kb.mailchimp.com/lists/signup-forms/ways-to-add-a-signup-form-in-wordpress

    Thanks!

    Hi Pearl,

I have added an alternative sign up form indeed a month ago ?? I was just wondering if this had been fixed. I prefer to use your plugin, but I’m using the HTML form now for the moment.

    Thanks for the fast response!

    Hi @sheriziya,

Certainly! I’ll do my best to post updates here as I am able. But please feel free to reach back out at any time if you have any other plugin related questions I can help out with.

    Warm Regards,

    Hi @mcsupport,

It’s been two months and a new version of WP later. Is there any update?

    Thanks!

    Hey @sheriziya,

I’m afraid there aren’t any updates we’re able to provide for this at the time. That said, we’ll continue to keep you in the loop with any updates we hear.

Thanks for your patience and understanding with this issue. Let us know if there are any other questions we can assist with.
