• I posted here after having some problems with an installation of WordPress, and one of the kind members thought the problem was likely the server the site was hosted on. He was right.
    Here’s the blog:

With a new host, installing WordPress was seamless. It took less than 5 minutes.
The blog’s design is a modification of Rubric. Now, if I could only figure out how to get some of the advanced plugins working….

    We’d like to have:
    photo posting capability,
how many times an entry is viewed,
    ratings for the entries….
This morning, I did look at Alex’s “wp_1.2_pluggedin” and attempted to install it. When all the files were placed on the blog, an error of some kind occurred, and nothing was visible, nothing at all. Since I’m a greenhorn, and generally completely unknowledgeable about PHP, I thought the best way to approach the plugins issue was slowly and incrementally :-).
I think at this point, rather than asking for help with plugins, I should pick one, read everything I can find already written about it here, then ask if I have further trouble.

Great to see that you have it up and running. I am sure that you are having a better time having your site up this way rather than having to fall under the constrants of a free site(I am sure there are many good free site out there). So, welcome to wordpress.
