Thank you for your quick response!

I added the recommended snippet to the subtitles.php file—is that the right place? I’m a novice at this. While the subtitles now appear in the RSS feed, they’re just tacked on to the end of the title, no differentiation between the two. That also means my RSS-to-email subject lines (which use the post title) now include the subtitle and are super long.

    Any way to remedy this?

    Hi there,

You shouldn’t be adding anything directly into the plugin file at all. Those changes will be lost when the plugin is upgraded. See this. That code should go into your theme’s functions.php file.

I think I understand what you were originally asking for before. You don’t necessarily want to show the subtitles after the title, but somewhere in the RSS reader? I don’t really think that’s possible because I have no idea how I could reliably target all RSS readers and place the subtitle somewhere other than next to the title that would make sense.

I think keeping the subtitle out of RSS feeds would be best, IMO, because I’m not sure of a good way to have them show up in feeds but also serve a good purpose on your website at the same time.

    Cheers,
    Philip
