The subtitle is displaying fine, but I can’t add it directly to a post. It disappears if I do. The field is there; it just doesn’t work.

I have to go to the posts list on the dashboard and add the subtitle using “quick edit.” If I edit the post, it will disappear and I have to go back and add it using quick edit.

    I’m using the Neve theme.

Are you using the block editor or the classic editor? Can you reproduce this with a default theme and ideally no other plugins? First thing to rule out will be a conflict of some kind. It sounds like there might be some kind of interference/failure in the post’s save routine.

    Hello Helga,

I have the same problem. I think the problem occurred with a newer update of WordPress. Because it was fine before and I did not change any plugins.

I am using the block editor and the newest WordPress (5.7). The quick-edit of sublines of posts is working. But the subline disappears when I edit the post. Or when I enter the subline next to the block editor.

The sublines on pages don’t work at all.

Are you working on an update? That would be nice, as I am using your plugin on a clients website. Otherwise I need to use a different plugin (and change all the pages as well).

Thank you and have a nice day!

What version of KIA Subtitle are you using? Can you tell me more about your set up? You are editing a page with the block editor? Is that correct? Can you reproduce it with other plugins disabled and the Twenty Twenty theme?

I am still having trouble reproducing this, but there’s a github issue that may be related: https://github.com/helgatheviking/KIA-Subtitle/issues/18 and I need to check that the version I have locally is the same as what’s published… wouldn’t be the first time I’ve done that.

It appears to break with the Neve theme.

I just pushed an update in 3.0.3. Not sure if it will help, but could you let me know if makes a difference? If not, not sure what else I can do if the problem is coming from the theme.

I’m away for the rest of the weekend, so will definitely not be working on it again until next week at the earliest.

    That fixed it for me.

happy dance! looks like it might have been some very old code from back when the input was pre-filled with the phrase “Subtitle”. glad that resolved it for you.

    Hey Helga,

sorry I was very busy the last days, so I could not reply.

But you fixed it, the new update works! So thank you for your free plugin and work! ??
